About the role

We are inventors, builders, and doers, passionate and purposeful in the work we do. We have a once-in-a-century opportunity to reinvent personal transportation—and we need your help. As a Systems Integration Engineer for the Manufacturing Test and Diagnostics Engineering team, you will be part of the team that designs, develops, and executes systems and processes related to ECU and vehicle bringup, validation, testing, and troubleshooting. You will help build the next-generation infrastructure and process for testing electrical components, including hardware and firmware, on the Zoox vehicles in Manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant area such as Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
  • 4+ years of experience with hardware and software test integration via high-level programming languages such as Python
  • Experience with network protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet, Automotive Ethernet, I2C, SPI, etc.) and building intuitive user interfaces via React or something similar
  • Strong background in Linux and shell (bash) scripting and experience with Github or similar tools for software management
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical systems, sensors, and actuators as well as ECU communication
  • Master’s degree in a relevant area such as Computer Science or Engineering
  • Server design and full interface development (API, TCP/UDP, MQTT, Redis, other “pub-sub” communication, etc.)
  • Background in creating, reading, and writing to tables in SQL database
  • Networking layer management skills via IP assignments, VLANs, MAC addressing
