Creating and publishing a Venture

Plant Your Flag and other supported self-service Venture creation flows let eligible signed-in users submit Venture information for publication. You are responsible for information you submit or materially edit, including the Venture name, type, stage, description, website, location, Open To selections, and We’re Hiring status.

• Consumer-created submissions are evaluated by automated moderation. An allowed submission may publish immediately without routine administrator approval; a needs_review submission may remain pending review; a blocked submission is not published through that flow.
• Publication does not mean Barber Career Map has verified, endorsed, approved, or guaranteed the Venture or its information.
• BCM may apply creation limits, rate limits, duplicate protections, abuse controls, and other safeguards to Venture creation and editing.

Public Venture information and discovery

Published, non-archived Ventures may appear on public Venture profiles, the BCM map, location or market discovery surfaces, Explore My Area, nearby or ecosystem views, hotspot groupings, sharing surfaces, public SEO/sitemap surfaces, structured machine-discovery data, and other supported public discovery experiences.

• Discovery-created Ventures may be published from supported source-backed workflows and may remain public while unclaimed.
• Public Venture information may be exposed through supported sitemap and schema.org/structured-data systems for search-engine and machine discovery.
• A public Venture may be unverified. Verification is optional for ordinary public Ventures.
• Public information can become incomplete, outdated, disputed, or inaccurate. BCM does not guarantee a Venture's identity, legitimacy, continued operation, availability, location, hiring status, opportunities, or outcomes.

Venture attributes and opportunity signals

Venture types, stages, Open To selections, and We’re Hiring status are product fields used to describe and discover Ventures. Owners or authorized users may update supported fields subject to BCM controls.

• Open To selections are user-controlled signals of stated interest and do not guarantee that an opportunity remains available, that a Venture will respond, or that any transaction or relationship will result.
• We’re Hiring is a Venture-level signal and does not guarantee that an active BCM Job exists, remains open, or is suitable for any particular user.
• BCM may use these fields in filters, discovery, analytics, return signals, or other currently supported Venture experiences.

Claims, ownership and verification

A claim or ownership assertion is a request or representation that may be reviewed under BCM's ownership-integrity workflows. Submitting or having a pending claim does not by itself establish ownership or control. Verification is optional for ordinary public Ventures and is separate from publication.

• Venture ownership remains separate from Employer ownership and from ownership or control of Jobs or Career Hubs.
• BCM may investigate conflicting ownership assertions, impersonation concerns, reports, or related evidence and may correct records or relationships where appropriate.
• Detailed claim, ownership, transfer, dispute, and verification procedures are governed by the separately presented Claim / Ownership / Verification Terms when applicable.

Pioneer recognition

Pioneer is limited BCM recognition for Ventures that satisfy the current Pioneer qualification rules, including the required publication, claim, verification, ownership, market, and availability conditions.

• Pioneer is not proof of ownership, an endorsement, a quality or legitimacy guarantee, a ranking guarantee, a payment status, or a promise of traffic or business results.
• Eligibility and availability are determined under BCM's current Pioneer rules and may depend on limited historical positions within a market.

Contribution Score and Visibility Levels

BCM may record qualifying Venture contribution events and use them to calculate a Contribution Score and resulting Visibility Level under the current product rules. These systems can affect how a Venture is presented or surfaced within supported Venture experiences.

• Only qualifying, credit-eligible events count under BCM's contribution rules, and BCM may apply duplicate, self-referral, anti-gaming, quality, or abuse protections.
• Contribution Score and Visibility Levels do not guarantee impressions, placement, traffic, leads, hiring activity, revenue, partnerships, investment, or any other outcome.
• Contribution and Visibility are separate from Venture ownership, verification, Pioneer recognition, and paid entitlement status.

Sharing, referrals, Watch / Save and Explore

Published Ventures may support sharing, referral attribution, Explore My Area, Watch / Save, and related discovery features. These features are subject to eligibility, authentication, privacy, abuse-prevention, and product rules.

• Referral attribution may recognize qualifying conversions and may reject or exclude self-referrals, duplicates, or other ineligible activity.
• Watch / Save state is private to the signed-in user and does not create an ownership, membership, endorsement, or business relationship with the Venture.
• Nearby, ecosystem, and hotspot discovery are informational discovery tools based on current eligible Venture data and product rules; they do not represent an endorsement or guarantee of quality, activity, density, or opportunity.

Employer, Job and Career Hub relationships

A Venture may be explicitly associated with an existing Employer through BCM's supported relationship workflow. The Venture remains a separate first-class record, and Venture ownership does not grant Employer ownership or control.

• Creating or publishing a Venture does not automatically create an Employer, and creating an Employer does not automatically create a Venture.
• Jobs remain owned and controlled by the Employer/job system. There is no direct Venture-to-Job ownership relationship, and linking a Venture to an Employer does not automatically create or publish Jobs.
• Eligible active Jobs from the actively associated Employer may appear on a published Venture profile. A qualifying published Venture identity may also appear on Job Detail for Jobs belonging to that same Employer.
• Career Hub and Venture relationships are based on the exact Employer identity connected to the active Venture/Employer relationship, not weak or approximate name similarity.
• BCM may unlink, correct, restrict, or moderate Venture/Employer relationships where appropriate.

Reports, impersonation and moderation

Users may report Venture content or raise impersonation or ownership-integrity concerns through supported BCM workflows. BCM may review reports, evidence, account history, relationship records, moderation signals, and other relevant information to operate and protect the service.

• BCM may moderate, restrict, pause, unpublish, archive, or otherwise limit a Venture or related content when reasonably necessary for safety, abuse prevention, ownership integrity, legal compliance, platform integrity, or enforcement of these terms.
• BCM may correct Venture records, Employer relationships, or related public presentation where supported review workflows determine a correction is appropriate.
• Administrative review and correction workflows remain authoritative for BCM records and public presentation, subject to applicable law.

Acceptable use

• Do not impersonate another person, organization, Venture, or Employer; submit knowingly false ownership claims; manipulate verification, Contribution, referral, Visibility, Pioneer, reporting, or moderation systems; or misrepresent affiliation, hiring activity, opportunity availability, or business status.
• Do not submit unlawful, fraudulent, malicious, infringing, deceptive, hateful, obscene, spam, scam, or otherwise prohibited content.
• Do not bypass rate limits, account restrictions, service controls, moderation decisions, entitlement controls, security measures, or other abuse protections.

Availability and changes

Venture features may be feature-controlled, changed, restricted, or unavailable while BCM develops and operates the service. Venture Plus has a configured LIVE launch offer, but checkout remains subject to Venture feature controls and service availability. Spotlight and Pin Boost are not currently offered for purchase. Material product or legal changes may require updated terms and notice.
