Position Summary
The Electrical Supervisor will lead the electrical maintenance team in a manufacturing environment, ensuring the reliability, performance, and safety of production equipment and electrical systems. This role combines hands-on troubleshooting expertise with team leadership, including resolving complex electrical and PLC-related issues, coordinating maintenance activities, and improving equipment reliability. The supervisor will work closely with Production, Engineering, and Operations to minimize downtime, support continuous improvement, and maintain compliance with electrical and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and develop electrical maintenance technicians.
- Troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, power distribution, automation, and PLC-related issues.
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance tasks to support production and minimize equipment downtime.
- Develop and maintain preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Respond to equipment failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support equipment installations, startups, upgrades, modifications, and capital improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Operations to resolve recurring equipment and process issues.
- Maintain electrical schematics, documentation, maintenance records, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Monitor team performance and promote technical development, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical safety standards.
- Provide coverage across multiple shifts and support operational needs as required.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of industrial electrical, controls, or maintenance experience in manufacturing.
- At least 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience in electrical or maintenance operations.
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, motor controls, VFDs, sensors, and power distribution.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-based automation systems.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, equipment reliability, and electrical safety practices.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and NFPA 70E requirements.
- Strong leadership, communication, prioritization, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with equipment installations, startups, and improvement projects preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance documentation systems preferred.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Regularly walk the production floor and interact with manufacturing teams.
- Stand, bend, and move throughout manufacturing areas during inspections and troubleshooting.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work flexible hours and support multiple shifts when needed.
- Work in both office and manufacturing environments.
