Power Factors fights climate change with code. * Outside China and India ABOUT THE ROLE As an HMI Schematics Designer on our SCADA Delivery team, you will design and update HMI schematics for the Unity SCADA platform. You’ll work from Technical Manager (TM) inputs and client-specific templates, making sure every schematic is accurate, consistent with client requirements, and delivered on time from first draft through final client approval. What you’ll do Ticket management • Review and manage HMI schematics creation tickets submitted to the USIB Jira board by Technical Managers and Project Managers • Verify tickets are complete: project type (PV, BESS, Hybrid), provisioning portal, client, applicable template, and any specific requirements • Track tickets through the USIB Jira board stages Input collection and coordination • Gather the inputs needed to build schematics screens, such as SLDs and client-specific requests • Work with TMs, PMs, and clients to resolve missing or unclear inputs before design begins Schematics creation, review, and approval • Create Unity SCADA HMI schematics from the provided inputs, client templates, and project requirements • Review completed schematics internally and make any needed fixes • Send schematics to the client for review and address comments until final approval • Upload approved schematics to all required portals, including cloud and local instances provided to the client Change requests and Unity Portal updates • Review change requests from TMs and PMs on the USIB Jira board and implement the specified updates or corrections • Review Unity Portal updates communicated by TMs and PMs to confirm schematics screens still operate correctly AI-assisted engineering • Use AI tools to speed up schematics design and review, and validate outputs for accuracy, completeness, and compliance before client delivery • Use AI tools to check adherence to client-specific templates and standards, and help improve design quality and consistency over time REQUIREMENTS • Experience (or strong interest) in HMI/SCADA schematics design [add years of experience for the level you’re hiring] • Familiarity with PV, BESS, and/or Hybrid project types [adjust by level] • Ability to read and work from single-line diagrams (SLDs) and client templates • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and template consistency • Clear written and verbal communication, including writing client-facing comments and change notes • Comfort working in Jira-based ticket workflows • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders (TMs, PMs, clients) and chase down missing information • Willingness to use AI tools in your daily engineering work and to check their output carefully • Nice to have: experience with Unity SCADA LIFE @ POWER FACTORS We are an agile software development company – big enough to make an impact, but small enough to move quickly and execute in a growing industry.
