Travel: Up to 50%
Position
Seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized machinery. This position requires strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to respond to emergency repairs, and flexibility to travel when needed.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized equipment.
- Review daily assignments with the Shop Foreman and prioritize repair work.
- Keep necessary tools and parts organized and readily available to reduce equipment downtime.
- Complete work orders accurately, including mileage, operating hours, and repair information.
- Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman and respond to priority assignments.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in an organized condition.
- Follow required safety procedures and regulations.
- Work with the team to complete repairs efficiently and on schedule.
- Perform other shop and maintenance duties as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment and/or trailers/cranes.
- 5+ years of experience in at least two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engines.
- High School Diploma/GED plus trade school or equivalent diesel mechanical training.
- Two years of technical/vocational school training and five years of hands-on repair experience.
- Valid Driver’s License with a good driving record.
- Strong computer skills.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and respond with urgency.
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting.
- Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Assistance required for items weighing more than 75 lbs.
- Comfortable working extended hours and outdoors in different weather conditions.
