Position Overview
Seeking an experienced mechanic to keep heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment operating safely and reliably. This position involves hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and occasional travel.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment.
- Troubleshoot systems involving hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air conditioning, and other mechanical components.
- Perform preventive maintenance and mechanical repairs to keep equipment operational.
- Document repairs, mileage, operating hours, and other required information on work orders.
- Coordinate repair priorities and urgent maintenance needs with the Shop Foreman.
- Travel when needed for work assignments, training, meetings, or equipment support.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain an orderly work area.
- Perform other maintenance and repair duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, or similar machinery.
- Strong experience in at least two technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air conditioning, or related mechanical systems.
- High school diploma/GED plus trade school, dealership, factory-service training, or equivalent mechanical training and experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond to priority repair needs.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance are a plus.
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking, and lifting.
- Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
- Assistance required for heavier items.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to work extended hours when required.
