About the role

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, cranes, and other motorized machinery.
• Review daily assignments and repair priorities with the Shop Foreman.
• Ensure tools, parts, and materials are available to minimize equipment downtime.
• Complete work orders accurately and on time, documenting mileage, operating hours, and repair details.
• Communicate emergency repair needs to the Shop Foreman for proper scheduling and prioritization.
• Follow all safety procedures and workplace regulations.
• Maintain clean and organized tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Work with other technicians to complete repairs and maintenance efficiently.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of maintenance and repair experience involving heavy equipment, trailers, and/or cranes.
• At least 5 years of experience in two additional technical areas, such as hydraulics, electronics, or small engine repair.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Trade school education or equivalent technical training in diesel mechanical repair.
• Two years of technical or vocational school training and at least five years of hands-on repair experience.
• Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Must be available 24/7 for emergency repair assignments.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%, including out-of-town and out-of-state assignments.
• Ability to work extended hours and respond to urgent repair needs as required.
• Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, walking, and lifting.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
• Assistance is required when handling items weighing more than 75 lbs.
