About the role
The incumbent serves as Surgery Service Chief at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System a Complexity Level 1 (High Complexity) facility. The incumbent must have knowledge of the mission, organization, program, and inter-relationships of the VA. This position reports to and is supervised by the Chief of Staff. As Surgery Service Chief, has direct administrative responsibility for planning, developing, coordinating, directing, evaluating, and supervising.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. Must be proficient in written and spoken English. Must pass pre-employment physical evaluation/examination. Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP). You may be required to serve a probationary period.
