Heavy Civil/Eartwork Estimator

Title: Senior/Mid-Level Estimator Level: Senior to Mid-Level (8-18+ years of experience) Talent Compensation: $1,500–$2,500/month Time Zone: US Mountain Time (Utah-based company; remote position) WHAT THEY'LL DO • Develop detailed construction estimates using HeavyBid software (primary requirement) • Perform takeoffs using Civil 3D and AgTech/screen takeoff tools • Create thought-driven estimates with custom unit pricing (not template-based green sheets) • Estimate heavy civil projects: earthwork, grading, underground utilities, and light structural work • Support business scaling and project growth • Work directly with company leadership on estimating strategy IDEAL CANDIDATE • 8–18+ years of estimating experience, specifically in heavy civil/earthwork • Fluent English speaker with professional communication skills • Bachelor's degree holder • Prior experience working with U.S. market (domestic or remote) • Senior or mid-level mindset with independent problem-solving ability • Located in Latin America or Central America (remote-friendly timezone) STANDOUT SIGNAL • Direct HeavyBid software experience (non-negotiable; this is the primary filtering criterion) • Alternative: Experience with Bid to Win software (transferable skills due to similar structure) • Demonstrates ability to think critically about estimates rather than mechanically applying unit prices • Portfolio or references showing complex earthwork/civil project estimates CLIENT STYLE: • Direct, no-nonsense; 30+ years of large construction experience now scaling independently • Prefers hands-on collaboration and strategic problem-solving • Willing to invest 2 months of training time for the right candidate with software familiarity • Values accuracy, independence, and understanding of construction methodology 8 NON-NEGOTIABLES • HeavyBid software knowledge or Bid to Win experience (critical for day-one productivity) • Earthwork/heavy civil construction background • English fluency • Ability to work full-time, remote, on U.S. mountain time • Senior or mid-level estimating mindset (not early career) #LI-NC1
