Accountant (9 month FTC)

We're looking for an ambitious Accountant to join our team in Clonee, Meath and play a key role in supporting financial performance, driving continuous improvement, and helping the business achieve its strategic goals. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of financial reporting, analysis, business partnering, and process improvement within a dynamic and collaborative environment. This is a 9 month fixed term contract. The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and supporting the business in achieving its financial objectives. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide timely financial information to support decision-making. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts. • Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on variances and trends. • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities. • Prepare financial reports for senior management. • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded. • Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other key financial records. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Process journals, accruals, and prepayments. • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies. • Prepare and submit VAT, payroll, and other statutory returns as required. • Support internal and external audit processes. • Maintain effective financial controls and identify opportunities for process improvements. • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts. • Conduct cost and profitability analysis. • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic business decisions. • Assist with business cases and investment appraisals • Support the implementation and enhancement of finance systems. • Develop and improve financial reporting processes. • Ensure data integrity within financial systems. Requirements • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or part-qualified with relevant experience. • Experience in a finance or accounting role. • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. • Experience within a manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment. • Knowledge of ERP systems. • Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
